Welcome to TheKirksvilleBeacon!

TheKirksvilleBeacon is a blog aimed to inform new students attending Truman State and A.T. Still universities on how to entertain themselves over the weekend. Kirksville is a small town, but it has a lot to offer for those that seek it. I'm one of those people that seek it.

Kirksville, MO: Not quite the "middle of nowhere"

I've only been a student at Truman for just over a year, but I've been very active in this time. I've joined several organizations, most namely Beta Theta Pi, which has given me connections to several junior and senior students. Through them I have learned countless ways that are sure to make your weekend a success.

So, each week I will find a fun and inexpensive way for you to spend the end of the week either in Kirksville or within two hours from it. Activities may range anywhere from site seeing to attending a festival. I will have a theme for each week like philanthropy or outdoors activities. Posts will be made every Thursdaynight by 8 and hopefully my reviews and suggestions will help you find something fun to do on your slower weekends.

Also, I would thoroughly enjoy reading any suggestions you may have that might be featured in future posts. Don't be afraid to submit your ideas.

This weeks theme is going to be nature, because it's neat! I want everyone to be able to take advantage of this last bit of beautiful weather we may be having here in Kirksville. See you on Thursday and here is a hint as to what might be included in this week's post.
